FAQs

Can I come for a one off session?

Ideally I suggest working together for at least 6-12 sessions, so you may have time to feel some change. Counselling is not a quick fix and does require commitment.

Some people continue for much longer and we can discuss this as we go along. I don’t ask for a long term commitment, you are here because you choose to be. I just ask for one session notice to end, if possible, so I may support you in a safe ending session.

Do you offer any discounts?

I do offer a discount to student counsellors.

I have some limited space for a reduced rate if you are on a low income or receive benefits and are in need of therapy.

I’m really nervous, how will I know what to say?

It’s very common to feel nervous before starting therapy. This tends to disappear once you are here – I’m here to listen, I won’t judge and I’m always going to be working for your good. I’m bound by confidentiality and an ethical framework, so you can bring whatever you choose to the session. All feelings are welcome.

I’m interested in RTT but I can’t be hypnotised?

The work in RTT is about going to a very relaxed state, just as if you were drifting off to sleep. In this relaxed state of hypnosis, the brain waves alter and we can find information you have stored in your unconscious mind. It’s not scary, you won’t be out of control, you will be talking to me the whole time and you would be able to stop if you choose.

I feel ill, can I still come to therapy?

I ask you to not come if you have symptoms of illness, in order to look after myself and my other clients. I can always move your session to zoom though should you wish to attend.

Do you have disabled access?

Unfortunately not. But I can offer sessions on Zoom.
